Medical personnel attending to the 4WD’s passenger who was thrown out of the vehicle.
MIRI: One person died and three were injured when the vehicles they were in collided at Lutong Bridge at about 5.15pm yesterday.
The deceased was the driver of a 4WD. His male passenger survived and was taken to the hospital.
Two others, who are sisters, in another vehicle were injured when the vehicle they were in was crushed by the 4WD.
According to witnesses at the scene, the 4WD vehicle was heading towards the city from Senadin when it flipped and landed onto the car coming from the opposite direction.
The incident caused a massive traffic jam.
Two fire engines from Lopeng fire station rushed to the scene to extricate those trapped in the wreckage.
Police are still investigating the cause of the incident.
