KUCHING: Level Up Fitness collaborated with non-governmental organisation (NGO) Hope Place in handing aids to four needy families here.

The fitness centre visited the families together with volunteers, led by Hope Place’s founder Kelvin Wan, over the weekend.

Level Up Fitness marketing executive Joyce Ting also donated items such as diapers, Milo and powdered milk worth RM3,815 to the NGO.

First recipient was 81-year-old Sulaiman Sirat, who lost the ability to walk. He lives with his widowed daughter, who earns a measly income of RM5 to RM10 daily from selling local pastries.

Second recipient Ho Bee Ban suffers from a heart problem and lives in darkness as his house has no electricity supply. As a fisherman, his income depends much on the catch.

Third recipient, Aisah, 61, lives alone in a wooden house with no electricity and water supply, while the fourth, Sami’un Mohd, 56, has lost the ability of earning income as a fisherman after a viral attack.

He is also nursing his 81-year-old disabled mother.

Members of the public interested in helping out, can contact Hope Place at 013-5672775 (Mondays-Fridays, 8.30am to 12.30pm), or email [email protected].

Alternatively, follow the NGO on Facebook.

For families with children with special needs, or the elderly, Hope Place provides powdered milk and diapers as well. It carries out aid deliveries once every two months as there are more than 90 families on its recipients list.

Donors giving cash donations are reminded to request for receipts from the staff at Hope Place.
