MIRI: The ‘Senadin Carnival’ held at SK Senadin over the weekend was an overwhelming success.

The books and magazines corner of the carnival.

Over 300 teachers, parents and members of the public thronged the school premises in Senadin near here for a fun-filled weekend.

Among others, the event served as the opportunity for parents and teachers to get together and foster closer rapport.

Apart from that, it also provided a platform to scout for talents which could be beneficial to the school in general.

SK Senadin’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) head Henry Jugah officiated at the opening. He called on parents to stay focused in guiding their children with their studies and making sure that they were not involved in social ills.

“As parents, we must monitor our children’s movement and their development in school.

“By this, at least we help prevent their involvement in social ills or undesired activities,” he said.

Besides the food and drink
fair, there were children
karaoke, blow-pipe competition, coconut bowling and lucky draws with attractive prizes being offered.

There were also the sale corners for used clothings, books, magazines, sports goods, handicraft items and accessories.

Also present to render
moral support was the headmaster Wilfred Mac, who was overjoyed at the success of the carnival.

He thanked association members and all those involved in the event.

“Without them, the success would not be possible,” he acknowledged.
