KUCHING: Twenty residents of Rumah Sri Kenangan (old folk home), were treated by Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) to a day at Damai Beach Resort near here on Friday to savour the beautiful scenery and ambience.

The programme, co-sponsored by Damai Beach Resort, was graced by SEDC chairman and Assistant Minister of Tourism Datuk Talib Zulpilip and wife Datin Dr Zaliha Abdullah.

Talib later presented the residents with gifts and cash contributions donated by SEDC.

The treat is an annual event under the SEDC corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, and is part of its corporate initiative to give back to the community and reach out to the less fortunate and needy.

It was also an opportunity for the residents to have fun and enjoy themselves away from the centre.

Other CSR programmes organised by SEDC include treats for the children of Kuching and Sri Aman Children’s homes, Majlis Berbuka Puasa with children of PERYATIM and Love –In – A Box charity programme for the residents of Kampung Sinar Baru.
