The victim’s motorcycle trapped under the cargo lorry.
SARIKEI: A 20-year-old motorcyclist was crushed to death after he was hit by a cargo lorry in front of Jakar Bazaar around 12km from here on Monday.
The victim identified as Vicky Christopher had just exited the road junction from Jakar Bazaar around 8pm on his way to a mini fun fair across the road when the accident occurred.
According to eyewitnesses, the victim seemed to be unaware that there was an oncoming cargo lorry travelling from the direction of Sarikei.
He was knocked down in the middle of the road and dragged under the cargo lorry together with his motorcycle.
Vicky is said to have died on the spot.
Traffic policemen arrived at the scene later to investigate.
The victim’s body was then taken to Sarikei Hospital for a post-mortem.
