Civil servants urged to submit claims

KUALA LUMPUR: Civil servants affected by floods and are using loan services under the Malaysian Treasury’s Housing Loan Division (BPP) are advised to submit natural disaster insurance claims to their respective panels.

In a statement yesterday, the Finance Ministry said their insurance could cover damage to building structure such as walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, house break-ins and burst water tanks.

They can  also  make claims for third party  injuries resulting from accidents in the house, as well as hotel accommodation or house rental incurred for the duration they are unable to occupy the house.

The division hopes that flood victims would quickly submit their claims to the insurance companies involved namely Takaful Malaysia (03-8890 3588), Etiqa Insurance/Takaful (southern zone, east coast of Sabah and Sarawak 03-4270 7735) (northern and central zone 03-7989 0311/03-7989 0310) and PruBSN Takaful Berhad (03-2053 1119/03-2053 1059), HSBC Amanah Takaful (Malaysia) 03-8888 1240/42 or 1-800-88-9659), Sun Life Malaysia (03-2692 8188) and Takaful Ikhlas (03-8890 3100), the statement added.
