SIBU: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) has made available forms for voters to fill in their objections of the 11 new state seats proposed.

PKR Lanang chairman Law Hin Ching told a press conference yesterday that the forms could be obtained at any of the party’s 29 branches.

“We believe the proposal to allocate 11 new seats is not right and we are objecting to the move. I urge all eligible voters to object by filling in the form,” he urged.

He said those interested may contact him on 019-8866132 or PKR Kanowit secretary George Chen on 019-8873515.

“Or just text me your name, IC, and address; we can help you to fill the form,” he added.

Kanowit branch chairman Thomas Laja said the proposed 11 new state seats would only benefit the Barisan Nasional, especially Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

Thomas described the proposal as unfair, not right and unjust, particularly to the Opposition.

“We’re puzzled as to why the Election Commission did not create new seats for places like Kuching, Miri and Sibu,” he added.

Chen said the proposal was unfair, undemocratic and an abuse of power.

He said it seemed to be the result of a collaboration between the EC and BN in the absence of the Opposition.

Chen said objection forms should reach PKR by Feb 5 at the latest.

“We shall submit the forms to the EC on Feb 6,” he assured.
