MIRI: The Miri Central Prison donated clothes to the Malaysian Red Crescent (MRC), Miri Chapter on Friday.

According to Inspector Ahmad Aznu, the donation comprised used clothes for adults and children. The clothes were collected from its staff recently.

“We embarked on this charitable move for victims of disaster. It may be just simple items from us, but it goes a long way to show that we too care for the unfortunate in society,” he said when met by The Borneo Post at Miri MRC building at Jalan Bulan Sabit in Krokop.

Aznu also acknowledged his thanks to the staff for the caring gesture by donating their clothes.

Miri Central Prison director and Prisons deputy commissioner Kamarul Alam Taib handed over the boxes of donation to the Chapter’s secretary, Tan Lay Yen, witnessed by the prison staff and MRC members.

On behalf of the Miri MRC, Tan thanked Central Prison staff for their initiative and noble deed as it welcomed the ready supplies for distribution in the event of need.
