LIMBANG: A suspected drug addict from a neighbouring state was detained at a roadblock for illegally entering Limbang and committing several other offences.
Limbang District Police chief, Superintendent Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the suspect, although having a valid passport, did not have the document stamped at the immigration border post.
“During the 11am road block the 34 year-old suspect drove without a driving licence and valid road tax. Urine test conducted found the suspect tested positive of ganja (a type of drug),” he said when contacted yesterday.
Mohd Bukhori said summonses were issued for the traffic offences committed. The suspect was also detained for further action under section 15(1)(c) Immigration Act 1959/63.
Meanwhile in an unrelated case, Mohd Bukhori said a 30-year-old man from Kampung Sepangah Medamit here, who was found unconscious suspected of consuming poison, was rushed to Limbang Hospital on Wednesday. He was discharged yesterday.
