SIBU: Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (MDTCC) had seized pirated discs worth more than RM58,000.
A total of 16,322 copies of disc were seized from 11 raids carried out last year, MDTCC Sibu branch head Kasim Mana told The Borneo Post yesterday.
He said penalty under the copyright Act 1987 was RM2,000 per copy. They have yet to make any seizure this year.
Hua Hua Entertainment Production (HHEP) managing director Robert Teh had appealed members of the public not to buy pirated CDs or DVDs of Chinese New Year songs.
