KUCHING: Comtec Solar Sdn Bhd is planning to kick off Phase 2 of its solar wafer manufacturing plant at Samajaya Industrial Zone soon.
This was disclosed by Comtec Solar Systems (Shanghai) chief executive officer John Zhang during a courtesy call on Second Resource Planning and Environment Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan at Wisma Sumber Alam here yesterday.
Zhang, who is also group chairman and managing director of the Kuching plant, briefed Awang Tengah on the progress of the factory during the visit, where he was accompanied by Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Datuk James Chan and its secretary John Lee, state Malaysia Investment Development Authority (Mida) director Ruhizam Idris and Comtec Solar Systems managing director Isabel Kow.
