Lions Club candidate campaigns in Kapit

KAPIT: Lions District 308A2 candidate for second vice-district governor Dr Gan Kean Siong campaigned here for the post on Sunday.

Dr Gan who is from the Lions Club of Keningau Mandarin, Sabah, will stand for the post for the term 2015 to 2016 during the Lions Convention in Penang next month.

The 55-year-old medical doctor has been a Lion since 1991 and was club president from 1997 to 1998.

At district-level he was Zone 13 chairman (2002 to 2003), Region 6 chairman (2003 to 2004), Region 5 chairman (2005 to 2006), district chairman for sight conservation and work with the blind (2008 to 2009), district chairman for diabetes and awareness (2009 to 2010), district chairman for environmental service (2011 to 2012).

He is currently district chairman for sight preservation awareness and action.

Dr Gan is also involved in the St John Ambulance, Thalassemia Society of Sabah and Lions Ambulance Society of Sabah.
