MIRI: Members of the public are reminded not to panic with the notice on the Imojev Vaccination Programme that went viral on social networks, particularly in Facebook and WhatsApp.

Assistant Minister of Communication Datuk Lee Kim Shin said the divisional Health Office was taking precautionary measures in handling cases related to public health so as not to cause any unnecessary panic among the people.

“I have contacted Tudan Clinic for clarification (on the notice) and it seems there are some misunderstandings among the public, causing them to panic,” he said.

Lee said the notice was meant for those living in areas identified by the health office here as having potential risk.

The areas involved are Desa Pujut 1, Desa Pujut 2, Desa Indah 1, Desa Indah 2, Prima Villa as well as squatters colonies in Pujut 5, Pujut 6 and Pujut 7.

“People from other areas need not worry. Children aged 15 and below living within a 2km radius of the identified areas must go for an Imojev injection,” he told thesundaypost when contacted here yesterday.

Members of public are reminded to get correct information on the subject from the health office here at 085-442616.
