3 Filipinos detained for drugs in Labuan

LABUAN: The police here arrested a 59-year- old suspected drug peddler and two unemployed men at an unnumbered house in Kg. Saguking here on Monday.

Labuan police chief Supt Adzhar Othman said in a statement today, that a police narcotics team raided the house and apprehended the Filipino suspects at about 11.30 pm.

He said the senior citizen was found with 14 plastic packets of crystalline substance believed to be syabu weighing 6.06 gm worth RM1,000 in his pocket, and tested positive for the drug, along with the two men aged 26 and 29.

Adzhar said the suspects who did not possess any travel documents were detained under Section 39A(1) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Meanwhile, a 28-year-old crane operator was killed when he crashed his Modenas motorcycle into a vehicle at Jalan Patau-Patau around 7.30 am on Monday.

The deceased from Tawau, Sabah was heading to his workplace when the incident happened. – BERNAMA
