CHIEF Minister Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman yesterday criticised Klias assemblyman Datuk Lajim Haji Ukin for misleading the State Legislative Assembly.

“I don’t want the assembly to be misled. You speak as if we (the government) have not done anything. Don’t talk like you were never part of the government,” he told the opposition leader while the latter was presenting his debate.

Musa said the government had spent millions of ringgit for developmens in Klias, and lamented that Lajim’s speech made it sound that nothing had been spent.

On Lajim’s comment about water shortages in Sabah, Musa said, “Sabah and Sarawak are huge states.”

He said he was not hoping to be praised, “but you are running us down.”

Musa also reminded Lajim not to act as if he had not done anything wrong, citing the government’s land swap that occurred for the construction of Wisma Pertanian during his tenure as Food and Agriculture Minister.

“It was a huge loss for the state government … why were there so many lands being swapped for one building? It was not wise. It was wrong … but I won’t run down a friend,” he said.

Lajim interjected at some point and queried why the application was not rejected by the cabinet.

To this Musa replied: “When my ministers make an application, I trust my ministers.”

Lajim mentioned that the contents of his speech were merely his humble opinion and said they were brothers.

“You are my big brother,” he said, describing Musa.

Musa commented that Lajim’s opinions were “humble but spicy.”
