KUANTAN: Members of Vision Movement (GDW) 3.0 should play an active role in the rural community’s transformation agenda, especially in explaining the government’s implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Rural and Regional Development Deputy Minister Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi said precise information should be imparted to the rural people to prevent misunderstanding and thwart manipulation by irresponsible quarters on GST-related issues.

“The ministry will organise a course for GDW members and the relevant agencies to explain the GST.

“Such approach is a must as there are some who are still confused over the GST, due to misinformation and manipulated information,” he said when closing the GDW 3.0 convention yesterday.

Also present were Paya Besar MP Datuk Abdul Manan Ismail and Lepar state assemblyman, Datuk Mohd Shohaimi Jusoh.

During the convention, Nanta handed over GDW 3.0 appointment letters to 966 members.

Of the number, 806 were from West Malaysia, 72 (Sabah), 85 (Sarawak) and three from the Federal Territory of Labuan. — Bernama
