The python caught by Fire and Rescue personnel.

LAHAD DATU: Fire and Rescue Department personnel caught a 12-foot long python behind a restaurant in town on Tuesday night.

According to operations officer Zulkifli Harry, his department received a call at around 11.51pm.

“We immediately sent eight fire and rescue personnel, led by me, to the scene,” he said when contacted yesterday.

“After 17 minutes, our team managed to catch the python,” he added.

Meanwhile, according to a member of the public at the scene, he was shocked when he saw the python creeping out of a ditch near the restaurant.

He immediately called the Fire and Rescue Department for help before the python could endanger the public.
