KUCHING: Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) seized 2,457 pieces of belian hewn timber and four belian logs over the last three days.
The seizures were made at two different locations in Bintulu.
A statement issued yesterday said the seizures by SFC officers based at Bala Tubau One-Stop Service Centre (OSSC) amounted to more than 65 cubic meters in volume.
“These timbers were believed to be illegal as there were no licensed belian operations at the said locations,” said the statement.
Both cases have been handed over to the Forest Department for further investigation.
