Ten weekly prizes of a RM300 cash voucher will also be up for grabs during the whole six weeks duration of the contest.

“It is not a surprise that Maggi has come up with a special contest for Sarawak as they have been a household name for years,” said Assistant Minister of Industrial Estate Development Datuk Peter Nansian during the official launch at Boulevard Shopping Mall here yesterday.

He also said Maggi which started 42 years ago has even set up a factory in Sarawak.

“Maggi has been a strong supporter of events in Sarawak such as the Gawai Dayak celebration at Redeems Centre by sponsoring prizes for winners of the beauty pageant as well as the festival’s side activities,” said Nansian who is also Tasik Biru assemblyman.

On another note, Nansian said this year’s Gawai Dayak celebration at Redeems will be held on June 13 and is expected to be graced by the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem.

Nestle Product Sdn Bhd business executive manager (Malaysia and Singapore) Rosalyn Simba, who also spoke, said that the Gawai Dayak festival is of great significance to the local community and one which brings people together.

“Maggi has given some traditional recipes a new twist, especially for Gawai Dayak, that consumers can prepare during the festive season to create good food moments,” said Rosalyn.

Recipes can be found on the Maggi website and Facebook page where consumers can share their own recipes which could win them special gifts if selected by Maggi.
