BAU: Mas Gading MP Anthony Nogeh Gumbek on Saturday night presented minor rural project (MRP) grants totalling RM190,000 to 25 recipients in Tasik Biru constituency.
They comprised committees of places of worship, village security and development committees (JKKKs), women bureaus, parent-teachers associations (PTAs) and other NGOs.
The simple handing-over ceremony was held during a fund-raising dinner organised by SRK Sebobog’s PTA at Kampung Sebobog near here.
The MRP grants were dispensed for various purposes including for repair works and to fund activities.
Meanwhile, Nogeh in his speech applauded the SRK Sebobog PTA for its initiative to raise funds for the school out of concern for the academic well-being of their children.
He acknowledged the problems faced by the school including the lack of computers and a photocopy machine, and pledged to look for a solution.
He nonetheless advised the parents and pupils to continue giving priority to education because it is through education that they can change their destiny.
