For the third time in 8 days, Chile’s Calbuco volcano erupts

SANTIAGO: Chile’s Calbuco volcano which erupted twice in a week, has erupted for the third time. forcing the repeat
evacuation of 2,500 people in the Los Lagos region.

The latest eruption was less powerful, but the National Geology and Mines Service issued a red alert, warning that the volcano remained unstable.

Calbuco last week burst into life after 54 years of inactivity.

The government has said that anyone within a 20-mile radius of the crater should leave.
