BUTTERWORTH: A 31-year-old debt collector was shot on the head at a back alley of a row of shophouses in Taman Carissa, Mak Mandin, on Tuesday, 12 May.
Seberang Perai Utara Police District chief, ACP Abdul Rahman Ibrahim said in the 7.20 pm incident, Goh Wooi Loon was running away on his motorcycle from his shooter, who was chasing him on a motorcycle, before the assailant shot Goh from behind.
He said Goh, who lived in Taman Bagan Ajam, near here, died instantly.
“The police forensic found a gunshot wound under his right ear,” he told reporters at scene here.
Abdul Rahman said the body was sent to Seberang Jaya hospital for post-mortem.
He said police were investigating the motive behind the crime and to obtain closed-circuit television camera recording in the area to assist the probe.
He also urged the public with any information about the shooting to immediately contacted the nearby police station to help in the investigation. — BERNAMA
