KUCHING: Sarawak Forest Department (SFD)’s enforcement officers busted an illegal logging activity in Sungai Moyan, Batu Kawa, here on Tuesday.
The raiding party seized ‘batak’ (a type of wood) and equipment at the site.
In a statement, SFD said the value of the seized items had yet to be ascertained.
Its director, Sapuan Ahmad, attributed the success of the raid to tip-offs by people living around the area.
“This latest success showed that the level of awareness from the public towards illegal logging has increased.”
