KUCHING: The Australian Government recently announced the opening of applications for the 2016 round of ‘Endeavour Scholarships’ and ‘Fellowships programme’.

The Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships are internationally competitive, merit-based scholarships provided by the Australian Government to support citizens from around the world to undertake study and research in Australia, and for Australians to do the same overseas, according to a press statement received here yesterday.

Categories include postgraduate scholarships for students to complete a Masters or PhD qualification in Australia, research fellowships, vocational education and training scholarships and executive awards for professional development.

Scholarship and Fellowship recipients gain invaluable international experience in study, research or professional development.

All recipients are supported by a dedicated case manager, pre-departure briefings, advice on health, travel insurance, accommodation, security, payment of allowances, and reporting to the department on the progress.

Applications for the 2016 Endeavour Scholarships and Fellowships will close on June 30.
