Miri to host JPJ Day do tomorrow


MIRI: The state-level Malaysia JPJ (Road Transport Department) Day celebration will be held at Miri City Council ground from 7.30am to 1pm tomorrow.

JPJ director-general Dato Sri Ismail Ahmad is expected to grace the event which will also be attended by the deputy chief director, state JPJ directors and directors JPJ headquarters.

The objective of the celebration, according to a press release received here yesterday, was to give recognition to JPJ staff and the organisation for achieving their vision and mission.

It is also one of public relation strategies to enhance cooperation with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) as well as the people to fulfill its aspiration of ‘people first, performance now’.

The JPJ Day celebration will also be held at every JPJ office in the country, with JPJ Sarawak the final leg of the celebration and closing venue of the programme.

JPJ Sarawak director and coordinating committee invite the public to the event to make it merrier.

Among activities to be held include an exhibition to be participated by various agencies such as banks, Puspakom and Myeg, automotive sales booths and sale of handicrafts.

A registration counter to register as member of the 1JPJ Sarawak Youth Squad will be opened to give opportunity to the public to be a part of the JPJ family.

The public can also access services offered by JPJ at 1JPJ Counter (Mobile Counter) operating during that day.

Among the services available include renewal of driving licence, vehicle road tax renewal, pay and check summons and black list as well as inspecting motorcycles which road tax that has expired for more than a year.

There are also many attractive prizes to be won and a lucky draw will be held at the end of the event.
