ENGKILILI: Engkilili assemblyman Dr Johnical Rayong Ngipa hopes that road connectivity issue faced by his constituents would soon become a thing of the past.

In his remarks made during a leader-meets-people event at Rumah Selindung Ili here yesterday, he said this would be one of his key missions towards ensuring the needs of the people under his charge would be fulfilled.

“I read a report in the newspapers today (yesterday) that my people are thanking me for this.

“I’m touched. I would like to assure my constituents that more will come from me if they continue giving me the mandate to serve as their assemblyman,” he said, adding that proper road connectivity would certainly be among them.

“Whatever type of road it is, I will do my best to help them build it. Road is a basic necessity and as soon as the issue of connectivity is addressed, we can pay more attention to other equally important issues.”

In addition, Rayong also hoped the people would understand that all development brought here came during his tenure as their elected representative under Barisan Nasional (BN). As such, he called on them to continue supporting the ruling coalition.

“I hope that the Engkilili folk would not be misguided by those who come here and call me an opposition assemblyman.

“My party (United People’s Party, or UPP) are fighting for BN’s cause.”

Having said this, Rayong was glad to know that his constituents were fully behind him.

He also declared open a pathway linking Rumah Selindung Ili with Selindung River.

“The villagers now have a much easier access to the river than before, with the completion of this concrete pathway.”
