Taib confers JBS on Ling Chee Kiew.
SIBU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud conferred state awards on 134 distinguished individuals at the Civic Centre here yesterday.
Heading the list were Sibu Rural District Council deputy chairman Oliver Kuo Ging Bing and Penghulu Ling Chee Kiew @ Lim Chee Kiew, who received Johan Bintang Sarawak (JBS).
Six were bestowed Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (PBS) and four received Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (PBK) award.
Nine received Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (PPB) while 43 were bestowed Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS). Others received Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (ABK) (20); Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (PPT) (21) and Bentara Bintang Sarawak (BBS) (29).
Among those present were wife of Head of State Toh Puan Dato’ Sri Ragad Kurdi Taib, Assistant Minister of Public Health Datuk Dr Jerip Susil and wife Datin Lee Chai Foong.
