Warning of strong winds, rough seas until June 23

KUALA LUMPUR: Strong southwesterly winds and rough seas are expected to persist in waters off Phuket until June 23.

The Meteorological Department, in a statement, here today said the same condition was expected in the waters of Condore, Reef North and Palawan.

Strong southwesterly with speed of between 40 and 50 km per hour and waves of up to 3.5 metres in these areas are dangerous to small boats, recreation and sea sports, it said.

In Malaysian waters, it said thunderstorms in waters off Kedah, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Malacca and Sabah (Sandakan and Tawau) were expected to continue until late morning.

The condition can cause strong winds of up 50 km per hour and rough seas with waves of up to 3.5 metres, which are dangerous to small boats. — BERNAMA
