SIBU: The transport of a private jet on the road stirred curiosity yesterday morning as motorists watched the damaged jet making its way to Rajang Port Authority for its final sea trip home to Singapore.

The jet from Singapore was damaged in an accident at 11am on Sept 29 last year when it skidded off the runway at Sibu Airport.

Four Singaporeans, including its pilot in his 40s and three passengers, including a woman, escaped the accident unhurt.

They have since returned home, leaving the damaged jet at the airport.

The jet was arranged yesterday to make its trip home.

It was being transported by a truck from the airport to the wharf in Rajang Port Authority.

It was escorted by the police to maintain order on the road.
