KAPIT: Irresponsible individuals who dumped used cooking oil into a bulk dustbin caused a number of accidents at Kapit Bazaar Baru yesterday when the oil leaked onto the road.

Some of the victims were parents who were sending their children to school.

Their motorcycles skidded when they negotiated a corner opposite Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB)’s office as the road had turned very slippery.

An enraged victim, who wanted to be identified only as Ah Kong, said the problems was caused by the discarded cooking oil.

He later alerted the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) and firemen promptly acted on his complaint by cleaning the area.
