MIRI: The Central Baram Development Committee (Kabar Tengah) has drafted a resolution seeking more development and better infrastructure in the area. Kabar Tengah chairman Peter Jalong Usang handed over the development plans to Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau recently.

“The development and infrastructure resolution covers four matters involving the upgrading of the existing road, additional electricity power grid, clean water supply and commercial centre,” said Peter.

He said the resolution was signed by headmen in the area.

“We thank YB Dennis, who has never neglected us, and hopefully he will continue to be elected for the next five years,” Peter added.

Meanwhile, Dennis said the resolution should be an example for others to follow towards transformation and acceptance of greater development.

“I applaud the effort by the Kabar Tengah committee and urge other areas to show such a highly motivated spirit as shown by Kabar Tengah,” he said.

“The mega project of Baram hydroelectric dam will benefit the Kabar Tengah area due to its strategic location in terms of socioeconomic and other basic infrastructure.”
