TAWAU: The Federal Government is still identifying a piece of land here to build houses under 1Malaysia Housing Programme (PPA1M for civil servants.
The government will be notified of the cost and details of the housing project at the end of this year.
Disclosing this here yesterday, Chief Secretary to the Federal Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa said the Civil Servants 1Malaysia Housing Programme (PPA1M) was one of the efforts taken by the Government to assist civil servants to own affordable and quality homes.
“The houses are 30 per cent lower than the actual market price,” Ali said, adding that the PPA1M houses are of good quality complete with amenities and were meant for civil servants.
“The buyers cannot sell the houses within a 10-year period,” he said this to reporters during his working visit to the Tawau Hospital here on Friday night.
Meanwhile, touching on the PRI1MA housing program, Ali said the land had been identified at Bandar Sri Indah (BSI) here, and the government was still processing it.
“This program was established to develop, build and maintain high-quality housing with lifestyle concepts for middle- income households in key urban centres.
“Nowadays, improvements to all hospitals are truly urgent due to the high demand from patients and the people.
“Yet, several general hospitals including Tawau Hospital have been listed under the 11th Malaysia Plan for which improvement on services and physical development would be given serious attention within a five-year period.
“However, the Health Ministry will work together with other agencies in improving the facilities and services in all general hospitals throughout the country, as whole.
“We will work as a team and try hard to make improvements in all general hospitals for the benefit of people,” Ali pointed out.
Meanwhile, national Puspanita also contributed RM5,000 to Tawau Hospital.
After that, he was also invited to officiate at grand opening ceremony of a 24-hour Putramed Clinics and Laksamana Executive & Boutique hotel here.
The doctor in charge of the clinic is Dr Suriany Bt Bullah.
