KUCHING: Six foreign women have been detained for suspected involvement in vice-related activities.

The six Vietnamese, aged between 20 and 30, were rounded up at a massage parlour along Jalan Tun Jugah here around 4.30pm yesterday during a police raid, which was conducted following public tip-off.

A local man, said to be a caretaker at the massage centre, was also arrested to assist investigation.

They were all brought back to police headquarters here for questioning before being sent to the lock-up.

Meanwhile, personnel from the district’s Anti-Vice, Gaming and Gangsterism Unit (D7) apprehended a foreign man and seized over two dozen computers from a suspected cyber gambling den.

The separate 3.30pm raid on Monday was set up after the unit received a tip-off that an online gambling operation
was being run on the first floor of a shophouse in Poh Kwong Park.

Upon their arrival to the scene, police saw that there was nobody at the premises except a 28-year-old Indonesian, believed to
have been employed as a caretaker.

The foreigner was subsequently held to facilitate further investigations.
