Najib meets BN component party leaders

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today held a meeting with the Barisan Nasional (BN) component party leaders here.

The closed door meeting chaired by Najib, who is also BN chairman, with the BN leaders lasted nearly two hours at the Perdana Putra Building, which is also the prime minister’s office.

Among those present were BN secretary-general, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

Vehicles carrying the leaders, including Tengku Adnan were seen leaving the premises from about 11.40 am onwards.

Parti Rakyat Sarawak president Tan Sri Dr James Masing, who stopped his car, confirmed that the meeting took place to reporters waiting outside the compound of Perdana Putra Building.

Masing said during the meeting, the BN component party leaders expressed their support for the prime minister.

“We also showed that we support the prime minister… we tell him we have full confidence in him,” he said.

In the meeting, Najib advised all component parties to take appropriate measures to strengthen the BN, he said.

He said Najib also wanted all component parties to take steps to strengthen the support of the grassroots for the party.-Bernama
