KUCHING: CCK Consolidated Holdings Bhd (CCK) reported higher turnover and earnings in the second quarter of 2015 (2Q15) ended June 2015.

The poultry products distributor told Bursa Malaysia on Monday that revenue in 2Q15 grew by 5.7 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM121.36 million from RM114.86 million in 2Q14.

Profit before tax (PBT) in 2Q15 increased by 41 per cent y-o-y to RM4.26 million from RM3.02 million in 2Q14.

In conjunction with the announcement of the group’s 2Q15 financial results, CCK in its accounts notes said the higher revenue generated was attributed to increase sale from the expansion of the group through increasing stores or outlets at strategic locations.

In line with higher revenue, CCK explained that the group’s 2Q15 PBT also improved.

Revenue in the first half of 2015 (1H15) ended June 2015 also gained by 5.7 per cent y-o-y to RM245.53 million from RM232.19 million in 1H14.

PBT in 1H15 improved by 8.3 per cent y-o-y to RM7.78 million from RM7.18 million in 1H14.

Moving forward, CCK said the group will continue to look for opportunities to expand its network of outlets in both Malaysia and Indonesia.

CCK ays it will remain focused in managing its operating costs effectively and to increase its market share both domestically and internationally.

Additionally, CCK expects its performance for the remaining quarters of 2015 to be comparable with that achieved in the previous financial year due to the generally higher operational cost environment.
