KOTA KINABALU: After 35 years of waiting, home owners of Taman Richdar, Menggatal finally received their Occupancy Certificate (OC), thanks to the persistent hard work of a developer who helped them secure the document.

Mayor Datuk Abidin Madingkir, who presented the OC to the home owners yesterday, said Chang Cheng Group had taken the effort to acquire the document as part of their corporate social responsibility.

“Thanks should also be given to the Local Government and Housing Ministry, City Hall officers and all consultants involved in the effort.

“Thanks to them the buyers can now occupy, rent or sell their property,” he said during the presentation ceremony at the housing estate, yesterday.

The group’s managing director, Tee Hong Wee, said Taman Richdar was an abandoned housing development faced with various complications but the company took the challenge of continuing the project.

“We accepted the task and with much effort, managed to achieve the main objective. Should there be similar problems in other projects, our group is prepared to take on the challenge,” he said.
