KUCHING: The state Immigration Department’s Enforcement Division conducted two raids as part of `Ops Ikrar (Mahir)’ on Thursday.

The raids were led by deputy assistant directors Mehuen Runies and Hairol Asuad Usop.

In the first raid headed by Mehuen, 22 workers at a botanical landscape premise were inspected where seven were Malaysians while the others were Indonesian nationals.

Three Indonesians were detained, with one of them suspected of not having a valid work permit while the other two failed to produce valid travel documents and identification.

The second raid led by Hairol was on a commercial building construction area in Bandar Baru Semariang.

Some 60 workers were inspected, of which nine were locals and 41 were Indonesian nationals.

No arrest was made as all of the foreigners had valid working permits.

The detainees were sent to the illegal immigrants detention centre in Serian for further investigation.
