KOTA KINABALU: Property developer and philanthropist Datuk Susan Wong Siew Guen was presented with the Women of Excellence Award by the State Government and the Sabah Women’s Advisory Council (MPWS) yesterday.
Susan, who was among four women entrepreneurs receiving awards from Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman during the State-level Women Day celebration at Wisma Wanita here yesterday, thanked the State Government and MPWS for presenting her with the award.
She said: “I feel very honoured to receive this award and I would like to dedicate it to the women of Sabah.
“This award is a recognition of the key role played by women in nation-building and women’s contribution to the state’s development.
“With this award, I promise I will continue to do my very best towards enhancing Sabah’s progress and prosperity.”
Susan said she would give the RM5,000 that comes with the award and a RM5,000 donation from her to two women organizations, namely Karambunai Single Mothers Association and Kota Kinabalu Widows Welfare Association.
Also present at the award ceremony at Wisma Wanita yesterday was Musa’s wife Datin Seri Panglima Faridah Tussin and several Sabah women leaders.
