SIBU: An incense urn of over 20 years old was stolen yesterday from the Sibu Buddhist Association in Tun Abang Haji Openg Road here.

The caretaker of the premises was aghast to discover the theft at about 6.30am.

Ashes were all that was left of the heavy urn which the caretaker believes was carted away in a lorry.

“Days before, three staffers tried to move the urn to the compound but to no avail,” he huffed, suggesting that there could be more than three thieves to lift the urn.

The padlock to the stainless steel door at the back of the premises was found to be tampered with.

The association appeals to those who have information on the whereabouts of the urn to call 084-313325.
