KUCHING: Sarawakian agriculture sector businessmen who visit the Malaysia Agriculture Technology and Equipment Exhibition at the Putra World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur from Dec 17-20 will get a free one-night hotel stay.
The exhibition is part of the 12th Malaysia Branding Showcase held concurrently at the same venue.
Organised by ES International Event Management Sdn Bhd, the hotel stay is sponsored by the government of China to encourage more Sarawakians to visit the exhibition.
“The Malaysia Branding Showcase is held annually and this year is the 12th year, and we decided to split it into two this year, one exhibition specialising in agriculture technology, which is the Malaysia Agriculture Technology and Equipment Exhibition. There will be 450 booths under the Malaysia Branding Showcase and another 200 under the Malaysia Agriculture Technology and Equipment Exhibition,” ES International president Datuk Chong Chong Tik told a press conference yesterday.
The Malaysia Agriculture Technology and Equipment Exhibition will include tropical fruits, vegetables, livestock equipment and seafood industry, while the Malaysia Branding Showcase will include household appliances, food and bakery, and coffee and tea.
The highlight of the Malaysia Agriculture Technology and Equipment Exhibition will be a seminar on Dec 18.
Some 90 per cent of the exhibitors are from China, Taiwan and Korea.
Chong added that the company is the first from the private sector to organise an agriculture exhibition, which is also fully supported by the Ministry of Agriculture.
“The latest technology is the remote-controlled mini aeroplane which can carry 20kg of chemicals for pest and disease control to spray over the crops. This means that workers do not need to manually spray the crops,” he said.
