KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake, measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred in the Northern Molucca Sea at 11.51 pm today, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department.
It said in a statement that the epicentre of the quake was 33km south of Bitung, Indonesia and 825km southeast of Semporna, Sabah.
The department will issue updates on the earthquake, said the statement. — BERNAMA
