Author of bestselling Christian books hosts 3-day conference

KUCHING: Trinity Methodist Church (TMC) will be hosting from Nov 6 to 8 a conference featuring bestselling Christian author Philip Yancey.

Themed ‘Vanishing Grace’, it comprises five talks and a programme for children (aged 7-12).

On Nov 6 (7.30pm – 9.30pm), there will be a public talk entitled ‘Vanishing Grace’.

Admission is free.

On Nov 7 (Sat) from 8.30am – 1.00pm, there will be two talks – ‘What’s Wrong? (Rom 1-3)’ and ‘God’s Solution (Rom 4-6)’.

There will also be a free children’s programme for those aged 7-12.

In the evening of the same day, there will be a public talk ‘Secret of the Universe (Rom 8) from 7.30pm – 9.30pm.

Admission is free.

On Nov 8 (Sun) from 10.30am – 12.15pm, there will be a TMC Sunday Sermon called ‘A King and a Prostitute’.

Entrance ticket is RM40 with free book voucher for ‘Vanishing Grace’, Yancey’s latest book.

This conference is organised by Trinity Methodist Church and PVM Harvest Resources.

A native of Atlanta, Georgia in the US, Philip wrote best-selling books such as ‘Disappointment with God’ and ‘Where is God When it Hurts?’ while also editing ‘The Student Bible’.

He co-authored three books with renowned surgeon Dr Paul Brand: ‘Fearfully and Wonderfully Made’, ‘In His Image’ and ‘The Gift of Pain’.

More recently, he has felt the freedom to explore central issues of the Christian faith, penning award-winning titles such as ‘The Jesus I Never Knew’, ‘What’s So Amazing About Grace?’ and ‘Prayer: Does It Make Any Difference?’

His books have garnered 13 Gold Medallion Awards from Christian publishers and booksellers.

He currently has more than 15 million books in print, published in 35 languages worldwide.

Yancey lives with his wife Janet, a social worker and hospice chaplain in Colorado.
