MIRI: Interhill Group’s Education Initiative and Curtin University Media Association (Cumeas) collaborated to host a ‘Screen Arts Talk’ for some 30 teenagers from Kompleks Hamidah Yakup last weekend.

The talk aimed to educate the group on what goes behind the scene in the film making industry.

Teens aged 15-18 years old were brought to Curtin University where they watched the international film titled ‘Marley and Me’ and discussed the details of film making and writing, as well as a Mass Communication degree taken in Curtin University.

“The film and arts industry is growing in Malaysia with opportunities to pursue passion as film writers or directors.” said Interhill Group of Companies corporate communications manager Agnes Nyelang.

The Interhill education Initiative emphasised passion in education to get children and teens to be excited about educational pursuits so as not to get tired of learning.

“We hope to inspire them to pursue higher education they can be passionate about, whatever lies in wait in the future. We’re honoured to be a part of this educational initiative and hope to collaborate with Interhill again in the future,” said Mass Communication student and Cumeas vice-president Chen Hau Yung.

The Interhill education initiative is another demonstration of Interhill’s commitment to grow in such a way as to support harmonious growth in the community.

This is a reflection of Interhill’s corporate philosophy represented by the acronym, ‘HIL’, which stands for Humility, Integrity, Loyalty and Local community support.
