KOTA KINABALU: A total of 17 secondary schools from Sabah have been recognised and awarded with the 2014 New Deal Incentive Payment.

According to State Education Department director Datuk Jame Alip, under the award, a total of 17  secondary schools principals received incentives of RM7,500 each which amounted to RM127,500.

About 1,131 teachers also received incentives of RM900 each, while 62 teachers received incentives of RM1,800 each.

At the same time, incentives of RM500 were also given to 227 school office personnel, he said.

The schools given the recognition were SMK Kinarut, SMK Pengiran Omar II, SMK Beaufort, SMK Beaufort III, SMK Bongawan, SMK Bongawan II, SMK Bengkongan, SMK Balaban Jaya, SMK Abaka, SMK Ulu Sapi, SMK Sandakan, SMK Kundasang, SMK Takis, SMK Nambayan, SMK Gunsanad II, SMK Sri Nangka and SMK Sindumin.
