KUALA LUMPUR: The Meteorological Department today issued a category one alert on strong winds, rough seas and thunderstorms in the waters off Pahang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Sarawak (Kuching) until late this afternoon.
Meanwhile strong Northwestly wind with a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour with waves reaching up to 3.5 metres (11 ft) is expected to occur in the Condore waters until Tuesday.
“This condition is dangerous to small boats, sea recreational activities and sports,” said the statement.
According to the statement, similar conditions are expected to occur in the waters off the Melaka Straits, Samui, Condore, Reef North, Layang-Layang, Kuching and Reef South till late this afternoon. -BERNAMA
