KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak’s Joseph Kalang Tie and Perak’s Mohd Nor Hakim Isa were each handed a five-match suspension by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) disciplinary committee for unruly behaviour during a Malaysia Cup match at the State Stadium in Kuching, Sarawak on Oct 17.

Both players were also fined RM1,500 each and issued a stern warning to not repeat a similar offence as the punishment would be severe.

Joseph will miss Sarawak’s match against the Armed Forces at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi and the Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) match at the Tan Sri Datuk Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium in Larkin on Nov 21.

If Sarawak makes it to the quarterfinals, Joseph will also miss both legs since he had already served a one-match suspension when Sarawak faced JDT at the State Stadium in Kuching, Sarawak on Oct 24.

Meanwhile, Perak’s Mohd Nor Hakim who had missed the match against JDT would miss the match against Armed Forces at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi on Nov 21 and three following matches because Perak are unlikely to advance to the quarterfinals.

Perak are at the bottom of Group B with three points.

Meanwhile, Sarawak official Mohd Hysham Adenan was also handed out the same punishment as the duo for attacking a Perak player during the match. — Bernama
