MIRI: Oceancare Corp Sdn Bhd (OCSB) recently extended its networking with China by signing a ‘Cooperation Agreement of Exclusive Support’ with China Oilfield Services Limited (COSL).

OCSB president Datuk Nelson Balang Rining said the deal was for the provision of cementing equipment and services and also provision of drilling/completion of fluid services.

“Malaysia and China have enjoyed a long standing friendship with each other.

“Oceancare Corp Sdn Bhd and China Oilfield Services Limited are continuing with that tradition with the signing of this cooperative agreement,” he said when contacted yesterday.

He added that the deal was made possible with the support of Petronas.

“As a Malaysian corporation, we have strived and worked hard to take our company to the international corporate level,” he said, adding that OCSB had been in the oil and gas industry for the past 14 years.

“This year has been one of uncertainty, not only in the oil and gas industry but also in the global economy. However, with positive mind-set and the unparalleled vision of our CEO (chief executive officer) Datuk Jonathan Loh, we have turned our focus to drilling and training services.”

Nelson said OCSB had also benefitted from the dynamic and strategic leadership of Petronas president Datuk Wan Zulkiflee and his implementation of Coral 2.0 to get through this trying period.

“This year, our company has also been picked for a few good contracts, namely a two-year contract to provide vessels and a two-year electrical and instrumentation maintenance project.”
