MIRI: Through its early childhood education plan, the government hopes that by 2020, all children aged below four years would have gone through proper and quality nursery care.

According to Assistant Minister of Early Childhood Education and Family Development Rosey Yunus every child in Primary One would by then (2020) had attended early childhood education.

“This is the aspiration of the government in ensuring that parents view the importance of quality early childhood education seriously in their children’s learning process.

“It is very pleasing to see that this plan is already put in our education system to prepare the children before receiving formal education,” she said when officiating at Q-Dees Bintang Ria Kindergarten graduation and concert at Imperial Palace here yesterday.

Rosey, who is also Bekenu assemblywoman, said today’s education system was very challenging compared to that of before.

Thus, the government had revised the education system to meet current needs, she added.

In this concern, she wanted parents to keep abreast with the needs of today’s generation in education.

She believed with a strong foundation in early childhood education, children would not have any problem adapting with formal education.
