KANOWIT: A sum of RM25 million has been allocated to Ngemah state constituency to carry out various development projects over the next five years starting 2016.

Ngemah assemblyman Alexander Vincent said the allocation is from the state government under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) fund meant for every Barisan Nasional (BN) state assemblyman.

“We are given RM5 million each year starting next year until the year 2020.

“I have my own recipe to bring in more development projects to the constituency for the benefit of the people,” he enthused.

He announced the good news to his constituents when he officiated at a ceremony to mark the construction of a new house for Kapitan Kong Chak Fui at a Chinese settlement in Sengayan here on Friday.

Alexander, who is also Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) supreme council member, said he would work closely with Kanowit District Officer Katis Noel Nyabong to monitor the implementation of development projects in Ngemah.

He urged his constituents to submit their requests for development projects to him or Kanowit District Office.

On Chinese settlement at Sengayan, he said the residents there led by Kong had enjoyed utility supplies as well as road connectivity.

At the function, he also approved grants of RM15,000 each for the construction of 13 houses at the settlement.

Among those present were Katis and local community leaders, Penghulu Thomas Ling, Penghulu Ugap Seribu, Penghulu Barnabas Angkis and Penghulu Juin Adam.
