MIRI: The Community Development Department (Kemas) constantly monitors the needs of the people in both urban and rural areas.

Assistant Minister of Early Childhood Education and Community Development Rosey Yunus, who is Bekenu assemblywoman, said it is the department’s responsibility to ensure all eligible citizens get the help they require.

“The role and task for the department going to the ground, meeting directly with the people is crucial to ensure nobody is left out from any benefit provided by the ministry,” she said during the Sentuhan Rakyat programme jointly organised by Kemas and Bekenu Service Centre on Monday.

“The agency also ensures the needy group get their welfare assistance accordingly.”

Rosey also advised community leaders to stay up-to-date with the people under their jurisdiction, particularly those who require assistance.

She called for cooperation between community leaders and Kemas.
